Measure Distances

The article explains how, on a chart, distances can be measured in pips or periods.
Details
On a chart, you can measure a distance between two points in pips or periods using the
Ruler tool.
To measure a distance between two points
- Select the Ruler tool in one of the following ways:
- On the toolbar, click Ruler.
- On the Chart menu, click Ruler.
* When a chart is opened within the FX Trading Station, you can also select the Ruler tool in the following
way:
On the Charts menu, point to Chart, and then click Ruler.
- Click one point on the chart and drag the pointer to another point.
The ruler line with a label appears. The label shows the price you are pointing to,
the number of periods between the two points, and the difference in pips between the two
points. As you release the mouse button, the ruler line and label disappear.
Notes:
- You can use the Ruler tool until its timeout expires. To changes the timeout, see
General Options.
- To deselect the Ruler tool, do the same actions as for selecting the tool or one of the
following:
- Right-click in the chart.
- Press ESC.
