Details

In the Advanced Dealing Rates window, you can see quote boxes with information on specific symbols, as defined by the symbol abbreviation at the top of the box. For example, EUR/USD represents euro/U.S. dollar.

The price you see for each symbol is the exchange rate for that symbol. For example, for EUR/USD the exchange rate is 1.4883. This means that 1.4883 U.S. dollars can be exchanged for one euro.

Buying and Selling

Each symbol quote box contains both, a buy (that is an ask) price and a sell (that is a bid) price. The difference between the price at which you can buy a symbol and the price at which you can sell a symbol is the spread.
Traders who expect the price for a symbol to increase buy or enter a long position and traders who expect the price for a symbol to decrease sell or enter a short position.

For example,
Buying
The EUR/USD is currently traded at 1.4883. You expect the euro to strengthen against the U.S. dollar causing the price for EUR/USD to move up. To reflect this situation in trading, in EURO/USD quote box, click the buy price and enter a long position.
Selling
The EUR/USD is currently traded at 1.4881. You expect the euro to weaken against the U.S. dollar causing the price for the EUR/USD to move down. To reflect this situation in trading, in the EURO/USD quote box, click the sell price and enter a short position.
