Change Chart Mode

The article explains how to change a chart's mode.
Details
Marketscope has the following chart modes:
- Line: the chart prices are presented with a line.
- Bar: the chart prices are presented with bars.
- Candlestick: the chart prices are presented with candlesticks.
- Table: the chart data is presented in a table in the following way:
- The date and time of the beginning of each period is displayed in the first column
of the table.
- If it is a Tick chart, the Ask and Bid prices of each tick are displayed in two following columns.
- If it is another than Tick chart, Open, High, Low, and Close prices of each
period are displayed in four following columns respectively.
- If tick volume is shown on other mode charts, its values of each period are displayed in the next
column of the table .
- If indicators are added to the chart, their values of each period are also
displayed in the following columns.
Line Mode
To open a chart in the Line mode, do one of the following:
- On the toolbar, click the Chart Mode arrow
, and then click
Line.
- On the Chart menu, point to Chart Mode, and then click Line.
- Right-click in the chart, on the menu that appears, point to Chart Mode, and then
click Line.
- Press CTRL + ALT + L.
* Within the FXCM Trading Station, you can also open a chart in the Line mode:
On the Charts menu, point to Chart, then point to Chart Mode, and then
click Line.
By default besides the Close price line, Marketscope displays the lines of High and Low prices. The lines can be
hidden or shown again at your choice.
To show/hide the High line, do one of the following:
- On the toolbar, click the Chart Mode arrow
, and then click Show High Line.
- Right-click in the chart, on the menu that appears, point to Chart Mode, and then
click Show High Line.
* When a chart is opened within the FXCM Trading Station, to show/hide the High line, on the Charts menu, point to Chart,
then point to Chart Mode, and then click Show High Line.
To show/hide the Low line, do one of the following:
- On the toolbar, click the Chart Mode arrow
, and then click Show Low Line.
- Right-click in the chart, on the menu that appears, point to Chart Mode, and then
click Show Low Line.
* When a chart is opened within the FXCM Trading Station, to show/hide the Low line, on the Charts menu, point to Chart,
then point to Chart Mode, and then click Show Low Line.
You can change the Line mode options. For more information, see the Chart Mode Options article.
Bar Mode
To open a chart in the Bar mode, do one of the following:
- On the toolbar, click the Chart Mode arrow
, and then click
Bar.
- On the Chart menu, point to Chart Mode, and then click Bar.
- Right-click in the chart, on the menu that appears, point to Chart Mode, and then
click Bar.
- Press CTRL + ALT + B.
* Within the FXCM Trading Station, you can also open a chart in the Bar mode:
On the Charts menu, point to Chart, then point to Chart Mode, and then
click Bar.
You can change the Bar mode options. For details, see Bar Mode Options.
Candlestick Mode
To open a chart in the Candlestick mode, do one of the following:
- On the toolbar, click the Chart Mode arrow
, and then click
Candlestick.
- On the Chart menu, point to Chart Mode, and then click Candlestick.
- Right-click in the chart, on the menu that appears, point to Chart Mode, and then
click Candlestick.
- Press CTRL + ALT + C.
* Within the FXCM Trading Station, you can also open a chart in the Candlestick mode:
On the Charts menu, point to Chart, then point to Chart Mode, and then
click Candlestick.
You can change the Candlestick mode options. For more information, see the Chart Mode Options article.
Table Mode
To open a chart in the Table mode, do one of the following:
- On the toolbar, click the Chart Mode arrow
, and then click
Table.
- On the Chart menu, point to Chart Mode, and then click Table.
- Right-click in the chart, on the menu that appears, point to Chart Mode, and then
click Table.
- Press CTRL + ALT + T.
* Within the FXCM Trading Station, you can also open a chart in the Table mode:
On the Charts menu, point to Chart, then point to Chart Mode, and then
click Table.
