Optimize Strategy

This section describes how to optimize a strategy.

In Marketscope you can optimize any standard or custom strategy, that is search for the strategy parameters that would be most profitable on certain past market data.

Marketscope provides a special application for optimization called Strategy Optimizer.

To optimize a strategy, do one of the following:

• On the Alerts and Trading Automation menu, click Optimize Strategy.
• Right-click in a chart, point to Alerts and Trading Automation and then click Optimize Strategy.
• In Strategy Dashboard, click the Optimize Strategy button on the toolbar.
• Right-click in Strategy Dashboard and then click Optimize Strategy.
• Right-click a strategy or alert label on any chart and then click Optimize Strategy.
  
  * In the E*TRADE FX platform, the command is available on the Alerts and Trading Automation submenu of the Charts menu.

The Strategy Optimize window will appear.



There you should specify the account parameters, select strategy parameters to optimize, and choose a range of data and instruments to test. The strategy will be applied to the past market data, and you will see its results for different parameter sets on a graph and in a special table. Then you can save your optimization project including all the optimization parameters and results.

To open a saved optimization project, on the Alerts and Trading Automation menu, click Open Optimization Project.
