Import Extensions

The article describes how to import your own extensions to Marketscope.

You can import your own strategies, alerts, macros, and indicators, in other words extensions, to Marketscope provided they comply with its requirements. For details, visit www.fxcodebase.com.

You can import extensions by using either the Drag-and-Drop operation or the Open dialog box.

Drag-and-Drop operation

The operation allows to drag a file or file link of an extension of your choice from your computer or Web pages to the Marketscope window. Note that you can also drag a file or file link to the FXCM Trading Station window and do it even when the platform is unlogged.

To import extensions

  1. Browse your computer or the Internet to locate a file or file link of an extension of your choice, and then drag it to the Marketscope window.

  2. The Install Extension dialog box appears.

  3. Click Install.

  4. The Extension has been installed message box appears.

  5. Click OK.

    Note: If an error occurs, the Extension Import Errors message box appears providing the extension ID and error description. For details, see Extension Import Errors Dialog Box.



    Point to the error entry to expand the message, read it, and try to correct the error. If you cannot resolve the problem, contact the Technical support.

To import extensions

  1. On the Alerts and Trading Automation menu, click Import Extension.

    * In the FXCM Trading Station, the command is available on the Alerts and Trading Automation menu.

    Note: You can also import your own extensions from the New Strategy or Alert, Manage Extensions, and Add Indicator dialog boxes by clicking Import. For details, see Add Strategy or Alert, Download Extensions, and Add Indicator.

  2. The Open dialog box appears.

  3. In the File name box, type the name of the file containing the extension you want to import or browse for one, and then click Open.

  4. Perform steps 2 through 5 of the Drag-and-Drop operation.

Once the extension is integrated to Marketscope, you can use it. For details, see Add Strategy or Alert.
